Artista visual, pesquisador, professor, tradutor, escritor e editor. É doutor (2025) pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Visuais na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (PPGAV-UFRGS), com bolsa CNPq, sob orientação da Profª. Drª. Maria Ivone dos Santos. Realizou doutorado sanduíche PRINT/CAPES entre novembro de 2022 e abril de 2023, na Universitat de Barcelona (UB), com coorientação do Prof. Dr. Jaume Fortuny-Agramunt. É mestre em Artes Visuais (2018) pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Visuais, na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (PPGAV-UFRGS), com bolsa CAPES, e licenciado em Artes Visuais  (2016) pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (DAV/UEL), com bolsa PIBID e PROART-UEL.

A partir do interesse pela tridimensionalidade, desenvolve esculturas, objetos, publicações e textos que investigam modos de instauração de processos artísticos em Artes Visuais. Sua produção enfatiza deslocamentos, reprodução, transitoriedade e a impermanência do objeto no espaço. Paralelamente, engendra procedimentos de escrita por meio da narrativa e da poesia, refletindo sobre o fragmento textual e a materialidade da palavra em sua disposição na página e em suportes diversos.

Expõe há mais de uma década, com obras tridimensionais apresentadas em exposições individuais como Prospecções e agrimensuras investigativas: a escrita, o fragmento e a disseminação da palavra (2025), Índice remissivo – segunda edição: Fercho Marquéz-Elul (2023) e À imortalidade da espera (2017), além de participar de exposições coletivas como Papel de parede / Wallpaper (2022), Pesquisa coletiva (2021) e Paragem (2018). Participou ainda de convocatórias artísticas como Corações à desmedida: uma homenagem a Rochelle Costi (2024) e Publique! (2023), integrando também arquivos e projetos como Lugares-livro (UFPel) e Articulações poéticas (PPGAV-UDESC).

Escreve e produz ensaios visuais, publicando em revistas acadêmicas, publicações de artista e anais de eventos científicos, tanto sobre seu próprio processo artístico quanto sobre temas relacionados à arte moderna e contemporânea, procedimentos conceituais na escultura e na tridimensionalidade, além de práticas de escrita e publicação de artistas. Desenvolve também a tradução como prática artística, vertendo textos e reflexões de autores como Georges Didi-Huberman, Gilles Clément e Le Corbusier (francês); Jan Svenungsson, Sue Finlay e John Dixon Hunt (inglês); Joaquín Barriendos (espanhol); e Etgar Keret (hebraico).

À frente da Editora Huracay, sediada em Porto Alegre/RS, edita publicações como Pedras expletivas / Pedres expletives (2025), [grande fogo] e [nº 007] (2024), Pulverizações / Polvoritzacions (2023), além de Timo (2023), vencedor do XVIII Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas, na categoria Destaque Publicação/Livro de Artista. Foi editor executivo, coeditor e revisor da Revista-Valise (PPGAV-UFRGS) entre 2021 e 2025, atuando na edição de dossiês temáticos como Vertigem (2025), Jardins (2023) e Arte, ditaduras e sobrevivências (2022). Em 2023, a revista recebeu o XVI Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas, na categoria Publicação: Pesquisa/Documentação.

No campo da arte-educação, interessa-se pela mediação cultural em espaços artísticos, integrando equipes educativas como mediador da Divisão de Artes Plásticas (DaP) da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2024) e da 11ª Bienal do Mercosul: O triângulo atlântico (2018), além de atuar como supervisor da 13ª Bienal do Mercosul: Estalo (2025). Também oferece cursos e oficinas, com enfoque em formação artística, processos de criação e procedimentos de escrita.

Como produtor cultural, propôs, produziu e gerenciou projetos por meio de editais de financiamento público, entre eles Timo de Fercho Marquéz-Elul, via FAC Visual (SEDAC/RS, 2021); Documentação e disponibilização on-line da produção artística de Fercho Marquéz-Elul, via PNAB (SEDAC/RS, 2024); e Poemes escurabutxaques: o diário da escrita artística entre Barcelona e Porto Alegre, via Concurso de Produção Artística do FUMPROARTE (Prefeitura de Porto Alegre/RS).

Fercho Marquéz-Elul

(from the city of Guaraçaí, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, lives and works in the city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul)

 

Visual artist, researcher, teacher, translator, writer, and publisher. He holds a doctorate (2025) from the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGAV-UFRGS), with a CNPq scholarship, advised by Prof. Dr. Maria Ivone dos Santos. He completed a sandwich doctorate program PRINT/CAPES between November 2022 and April 2023 at the University of Barcelona (UB), co-advised by Prof. Dr. Jaume Fortuny-Agramunt. He holds a master's degree in Visual Arts (2018) from the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGAV-UFRGS), with a CAPES scholarship, and a licentiate degree in Visual Arts (2016) from the State University of Londrina (DAV/UEL), with a PIBID and PROART-UEL scholarship.

Based on an interest in three-dimensionality, he develops sculptures, objects, publications, and texts that investigate ways of establishing artistic processes in the Visual Arts. His work emphasizes displacements, reproduction, transience, and the impermanence of the object in space. At the same time, he carries out writing procedures through narrative and poetry, reflecting on the textual fragment and the materiality of the word in its arrangement on the page and in various media.

He has been exhibiting for over a decade, with three-dimensional works presented in solo exhibitions such as Prospecções e agrimensuras investigativas: a escrita, o fragmento e a disseminação da palavra [Investigative prospecting and surveying: the writing, the fragment, and the dissemination of the word] (2025), Índice remissivo – segunda edição: Fercho Marquéz-Elul [Word index – second edition: Fercho Márquez-Elul] (2023), and À imortalidade da espera [To the immortality of waiting] (2017), besides participating in group exhibitions such as Papel de parede/Wallpaper (2022), Pesquisa coletiva [Collective research] (2021), and Paragem [Stoppage] (2018). He has also taken part in artistic calls such as Corações à desmedida: uma homenagem a Rochelle Costi [Hearts in the extreme: a tribute to Rochelle Costi] (2024) and Publique! [Publish!] (2023), also being involved in files and projects such as Lugares-livro (Federal University of Pelotas) and Articulações poéticas (Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at Santa Catarina State University).[1] 

He writes and produces visual essays, publishing them in academic journals, artist publications, and proceedings of scientific events, both about his artistic process and about topics related to modern and contemporary art and conceptual procedures in sculpture and three-dimensionality, as well as artists' writing and publishing practices. He also makes translations as an artistic practice, working with texts and reflections by authors such as Georges Didi-Huberman, Gilles Clément, and Le Corbusier (French); Jan Svenungsson, Sue Finlay, and John Dixon Hunt (English); Joaquín Barriendos (Spanish); and Etgar Keret (Hebrew).

At the helm of the publishing house Editora Huracay, headquartered in the city of Porto Alegre (in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), he publishes works such as Pedras expletivas/Pedres expletives [Expletive stones] (2025), [grande fogo] [big fire] and [nº 007] [#007] (2024), Pulverizações/Polvoritzacions [Pulverizations] (2023), besides Timo (2023), winner of the award XVIII Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas, in the category Outstanding Publication/Artist’s Book. He was executive editor, co-editor, and proofreader of the journal Revista-Valise (Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) between 2021 and 2025, editing thematic dossiers such as Vertigem [Vertigo] (2025), Jardins [Gardens] (2023), and Arte, ditaduras e sobrevivências [Art, dictatorships, and survivals] (2022). In 2023, the journal received the award XVI Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas, in the category Publication: Research/Documentation.

In the field of art education, he is interested in cultural mediation in artistic spaces, being involved in educational teams as a mediator for Divisão de Artes Plásticas (DaP) at the State University of Londrina (2024) and the 11th Mercosur Biennial: Atlantic Triangle (2018), besides working as a supervisor of the 13th Mercosur Biennial: Snap (2025). He also offers courses and workshops, focusing on artistic training, creative processes, and writing procedures.

As a cultural producer, he conceived, produced, and managed projects through calls for proposals for public funding, including Timo by Fercho Marquéz-Elul, through the call for proposals FAC Visual (Department of Culture, Rio Grande do Sul, 2021); Documentação e disponibilização on-line da produção artística de Fercho Marquéz-Elul [Documentation and online availability of the artistic production by Fercho Marquéz-Elul], through the policy PNAB (Department of Culture, Rio Grande do Sul, 2024); and Poemes escurabutxaques: o diário da escrita artística entre Barcelona e Porto Alegre, [Pickpocketing poems: the diary of artistic writing between Barcelona and Porto Alegre], through an Artistic Production Contest held by the artistic fund FUMPROARTE (administered by the City Hall of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil).
