Reportagem sobre um teto-jardim. Tetos-jardins?

Resumo

Essa produção reúne dois relatos a respeito de um teto-jardim experimentado por Le Corbusier na cobertura de apartamento e ateliê, situado na rua Nungesser-et-Coli, no 24, em Paris, em meados de 1940 e que de modo surpreendente para o autor, após quase uma década de abandono programado, desenvolvia-se plenamente. O teto-jardim foi um dos Cinco pontos da Nova Arquitetura pesquisado pelo arquiteto e lançado em 1936 na revista francesa L’esprit nouveau, tendo como objetivo recuperar o solo ocupado pelo edifício construído, deslocando-o para a cobertura da construção sob a forma de um jardim. Juntamente com os pressupostos de planta livre, fachada livre, pilotis e janelas em fita, tais demandas arquitetônicas foram absorvidas no que ficaram conhecidos como elementos característicos para a arquitetura moderna ocidental. Na reportagem, Le Corbusier relata de modo apaixonante os processos de vida que a natureza autonomamente engendra, bem como prescreve brevemente a implementação do teto-jardim como recurso propositivo para novas relações entre arquitetura, usuário e natureza.

Report on a Roof-Garden. Roof-Gardens?

Abstract

This production brings together two reports about a roof-garden experimented by Le Corbusier on the roof of an apartment and studio on 24 Nungesser-et-Coli Street, in Paris, in the mid-1940s, and which, surprisingly for the author, was fully developed after almost a decade of planned abandonment. The roof-garden was one of the Five Points of New Architecture developed by the architect and launched in 1936 in the French magazine L’esprit nouveau, with the objective of recovering the land occupied by the constructed building, transferring it to the roof of the construction in the form of a garden. Along with the principles of a Free design of the ground plan, Free design of the façade, Pilotisand Horizontal window, such architectural demands were absorbed into what became known as characteristic elements of Western modern architecture. In the article, Le Corbusier passionately recounts the life processes that nature engenders autonomously, as well as briefly prescribing the implementation of the roof-garden as a propositional resource for new relationships between architecture, user and nature.
