Incidentes da fossilização
Resumo
Este texto crítico feito aborda a série de pinturas e obras têxteis presentes na exposição individual Endereços, da artista paulistana Marcela Novaes, na Galeria Gal em Belo Horizonte (MG). Ao focar na ausência radical do humano em cenas domésticas e paisagens inquietantes produzidas pela artista, busca-se questionar a ideia de lar seguro a partir de visitas virtuais empreendidas pela artista ao Google Earth. Em seu trabalho, o ambiente da casa e do lar passa a ser compreendido através da fossilização cuja produção expõe a artificialidade do doméstico e a dessensibilização da imagem virtual torna esses endereços, ainda que preservados, inacessíveis à visitação física.

Incidents of fossilization
Abstract
This critical text addresses the series of paintings and textile works in the solo exhibition Endereços [Addresses], held by the artist Marcela Novaes (from the state of São Paulo, Brazil) at the gallery Gal, in the city of Belo Horizonte (in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil). By focusing on the radical absence of the human in domestic scenes and unsettling landscapes created by the artist, it seeks to question the idea of a safe home through virtual visits to Google Earth undertaken by the artist. In her work, the environment of the house and home is understood through fossilization, the production of which exposes the artificiality of the domestic. The desensitization of the virtual image makes these addresses inaccessible to in-person visits, even if they are preserved.
